Thank you for visiting the Cheshire Academy website. This site was created to enhance levels of communication between the school and its students, parents, alumni, teachers, staff members, and prospective students and parents. All content (including, but not limited to, text, graphics, photographs, video, and audio) is protected; you will not in any way unlawfully reproduce, modify, move, add to, delete or otherwise tamper with the information contained within this website.

Cheshire Academy reserves the right to modify the policies outlined on this page at our discretion. By using the Cheshire Academy website, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not accept the terms and conditions given here, you must exit this site immediately.

  • Collection of Personal Information

    As a general visitor to the Cheshire Academy website, we track the pages you view for our performance records using Google Analytics. During this time no personally identifiable information (your name, phone number, e-mail address, etc.) is collected unless you knowingly submit it to us. We sincerely respect your privacy, and are fully committed to ensuring the confidentiality of all personal information you share with us.     We collect information in the following ways:
    • Information you give us. When you submit your name and grade to receive more information, we store that information on file to better send you information that’s most specific to your interests.
    • Information collected from your use of our services. When you watch a video or visit a page on our website, we collect data such as the date and time that you viewed the content. If you have not given us your information, then your use of our services is aggregated into general usage statistics so that we can better improve our website. If you have already given us your information, we tie your use of our website to your account so that we can better share information that may interest you about Cheshire Academy.
    The Cheshire Academy website stores cookies on your computer. These cookies are used to improve our website and provide more personalized services to you, both on this website and through other media.
  • Use of Personal Information

    Any personal information voluntarily submitted to Cheshire Academy or collected through use of our site signifies an interest in our school and may be used accordingly for mailings, announcements, databases and other school related purposes. You may opt out of receiving mailings by e-mailing webmaster@cheshireacademy.org.

MyCheshire Portal Participation

As a Cheshire Academy student, parent, alumni, or staff member, or if you are currently in the process of filling out an application to attend Cheshire Academy, you will be included in our password-protected community. One of the functions of the community is to serve as an online directory, enabling certain members to access personal information such as your phone number, address, etc. Using your ID and password you may access and update this information whenever you want.

  • Security

    Cheshire Academy takes appropriate measures to ensure the privacy of your personal information. Our portal provider, Blackbaud, safeguards web-based communications of data using secure databases and SSL certificates. As with all web-based communications, it is incumbent on the end user that they make sure that they are using web sites that employ SSL certificates.

    With regard to data management, Cheshire Academy reserves the right to export data and generate reports from the portal database. Those reports are handled with the utmost sensitivity and do not contain personally identifiable information (PII) from the highest level data classification, such as social security numbers, driver’s license, etc.

    Furthermore, after issuing portal usernames and passwords, Cheshire Academy cannot control the ultimate dissemination of account credentials beyond initial distribution by the Academy, and therefore is not responsible if unauthorized access occurs. To protect the integrity of our online community, it is crucial to keep your ID and password confidential. Also, make sure you remember to logout from the community after every session, especially when using a public computer.

  • Third Party Disclosure

    Cheshire Academy will NOT disclose your personal information to third parties for commercial use. However, to maintain the dynamic functionality of our online community, it is necessary to allow our software service providers and partners access to account information. We can assure our users that these partners will not use their personal information for any purposes other than to improve their software functionality, and will not market to you or our other users at any time without your consent.
