Dear Cheshire Academy Community,
I am grateful each day to serve the Academy as Head of School, working with a dedicated and talented faculty and staff in support of an incredibly diverse, bright and creative student body. This year’s start of the new school year is an especially exciting time. As we say goodbye to summer, we are coming home to our Cheshire Academy family and a year that promises to be academically challenging, athletically and artistically inspiring, and full of celebration as we honor the Academy’s 225-year heritage.
As you come to campus — either returning home or joining us for your first year — you will see beautiful new signage celebrating our anniversary and highlighting our character tenets of the eight Pillars of Bowden. You will notice fresh paint throughout the dormitories and academic buildings, a beautifully landscaped campus, and new carpet and furniture throughout our facilities. You will be greeted by a few more campus dogs and new faces who have joined us this year with a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to share. Our returning students and families will also note that many familiar faces are adding new responsibilities to their roles on campus. At Cheshire Academy, we support the professional growth of our faculty and staff and find great pride in promoting from within.
I look forward to welcoming each one of you in person throughout your arrival this week and hope that you will be able to join us for our Opening of School Convocation on Sunday, September 2 at 3 p.m. We look forward to a year of honoring our past as we look forward to the future.
Julie M. Anderson
