What would Valentine’s Day be without a CA love story ❤️
This fairy tale begins in the CA library. Two sophomores sharing a geometry book.
Sam Hundley ’11 usually went to the library during his free period, checked out a geometry textbook and studied. But one day he found another student had checked out the book. The librarian pointed to a nearby table. Julie Fields ’11 was using it. Hundley went over and asked if they could share. That sparked conversation. They began working on geometry together and now, nearly 10 years later, they are getting married.
Hundley and Fields are set to tie the knot on June 15 in Middletown, Connecticut.
They share many CA memories together. There were Cheshire Coffee dates that included many Oreo Frappuccinos, playing with Ms. Cook’s dog, Bailey, on Sevigny Field, and being named prom king and queen in 2011.
“Attending Cheshire Academy gave me a lot of opportunities,” Hundley said. “I tried a lot of new things. Coaches and teachers were very supportive. It was a real stepping stone for my future.”
“I vividly remember sitting in Ms. Stracener’s room (now Mrs. Kelly) for hours talking about biology,” Fields said. “That shaped my future. And, of course, Sam was a big positive that came out of it, too.”
Fields is now working as an Analytical Chemistry Lead for Lab Central and Hundley is an Account Executive for CarGurus. They live in Boston with their two dogs, Dixie and Barko.
Congratulations and Happy Valentine’s Day, Sam and Julie, from your CA Family!
