  • Assistant/Associate Director of Communications

    The Assistant/Associate Director of Communications reports to the Director of Strategic Marketing & Communications, and works to develop, enhance, and implement the communications and public relations efforts of the school.
     
    Responsibilities

    • Create regular content to spread the message of Cheshire Academy, including but not limited to website articles, print publication text, press releases, blogs, photography, and videos
      • Active ongoing pitching of signature programs and individuals on campus to local, regional, and national outlets
      • Coverage of campus events as needed (including nights and weekend)
      • Press release creation and pitching involving academic, artistic, and athletic accomplishments, major events and student honors to relevant local and national media
      • Creation of website articles focused on major events and campus activities
    • Manage the school's social media marketing efforts
      • Develop continued website and social media content strategy around events and campaigns
      • Develop brand awareness using news articles, events, and campus constituents
      • Generate inbound traffic and prospect nurturing
      • Create relevant content, such as blogging, community participation and thought leadership around boarding schools and social media in general
      • Support for internal constituents around social media activation, daily maintenance, and general questions/concerns.
    • Serve as the liaison between athletics and communications 
      • Serve as main contact for athletics with media (national and local)
      • Arrange publicity for athletes, such as on National Signing Day and college commitments
      • Coordination and support for athletic score submissions to local media
      • Create and maintain athletic department’s social media presence
      • Coordinate live-streaming for athletic events
      • Help maintain athletic web pages through support for coaches with athletics office
      • Create and post athletics oriented website stories when appropriate (Sports Beat, etc.)
    • Other duties as deemed necessary by the Director
    Requirements of the Role
    • Bachelor’s & master’s degrees in English, marketing, communications, IT or related
    • Minimum of 5-7 years experience
    • Strong writing, photography, and videography skills
    • Strong understanding of current online marketing and public relations concepts, strategy, and best practice
    • Strong understanding of athletics and athletic terminology
    • Ability to create content as well as identify and generate creative content ideas
    • Skilled in effective branding techniques
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate widely with various constituencies throughout the School’s community
    • Technical skills to support the above
    • Team player, as well as the ability to work independently
    • Independent school experience strongly preferred

  • Assistant/Associate Director of Digital Marketing

    The Assistant/Associate Director of Digital Marketing and Communications reports to the Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications, and works to develop, enhance, and implement the digital marketing strategies for the Academy.

    Responsibilities
    • Create and maintain webpages for the Cheshire Academy website using Blackbaud OnMessage content management system
    • Create and maintain landing pages using Hubspot design tools
    • Lead and implement strategies to drive and convert leads using search engine optimization (SEO) and email marketing
    • Create monthly reports of website and email analytics, and analyze these reports to drive improvements to the website and email marketing strategy
    • Develop content strategy for The Student Center, Cheshire Academy’s inbound blog, keeping in mind search terms and persona research
    • Develop, manage, and track digital marketing campaigns
    • Manage products that enhance the online experience for users, including but not limited to interactive campus maps, outsourced video projects, alumni relations, fundraising and donor management
    • Manage regular e-communication campaigns
    • Implement a range of techniques to enhance digital value including SEO and SEM
    • Manage the design, and potential future redesign, of the Academy website
    • Manage online brand and project campaigns to raise brand awareness
    • Improve the usability, design, content, and conversion of the Academy website
    • Evaluate customer research, market conditions, and competitor data
    • Review new technologies and keep the Academy at the forefront of developments in digital marketing.
    • Assist with managing student interns
    • Create regular reports on successes and areas of improvement for digital marketing
    • Assist with content creation as needed (writing, graphic design, photography, video)
    • Other duties as deemed necessary by the Director
    Requirements of the Role
    • Bachelor’s & master’s degrees in English, marketing, communications, IT or related
    • Minimum of 5-7 years related experience
    • Strong understanding of current online marketing concepts, strategy, and best practice
    • Experience managing SEO, SEM, email marketing, and analytics
    • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite products is a plus
    • Ability to create content as well as identify and generate creative content ideas
    • Skilled in effective branding techniques
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate widely with various constituencies throughout the School’s community
    • Technical skills to support the above
    • Team player, as well as the ability to work independently
    • Independent school experience strongly preferred
    • Blackbaud product experience strongly preferred

  • French Teacher

    Candidates should have Native or Native-like fluency in French with the ability to teach all levels of French. Three or more years’ teaching experience and a master’s degree are desired.  International Baccalaureate teaching experience is also preferred. Ability to teach both French and Spanish is a definite plus. Teachers who have a dynamic presence in the classroom, an innovative and open approach to curriculum design, a collaborative approach to teaching, and who incorporate new technologies are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates must embrace participation in the entire boarding school experience. In addition to teaching, job responsibilities include participating in the afternoon program, advising, and weekend duty.
