Cheshire Academy Welcomes 150 Colleges and Universities to Annual College Fair
At its 15th Annual College Fair, Cheshire Academy welcomed 150 colleges and universities to campus on Thursday, April 21. Visiting counselors had the opportunity to meet and speak with Academy students during the two hour event. The first hour was spent conducting one-on-one interviews, while the second hour was a less formal opportunity for students to browse schools and ask their own questions.
“Our setup this year was unique in that we had all of our juniors conduct three mock interviews with school counselors. This is a great experience for our students and, for many of them, it was their first time interviewing as part of the college application process,” said Senior Associate Director of College Counseling Dan Monahan.
Counselors from around the country took the time to visit with students at Cheshire Academy during the event, including United States Military Academy at West Point, UCLA, Colgate University, The University of Edinburgh - Scotland, Los Angeles Performing Arts Conservatory, University of Massachusetts Amherst, Oberlin College, University of Rhode Island, Rochester Institute of Technology, Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), University of Southern California, Syracuse University, and many more.
Special thanks to Janet Rosenbaum, Jennifer Guarino, Christine Monahan, Sage, Tom Charette and his crew, Beth Parcells, and the Marketing & Communications department for the extra help they provided us in setting the fair and throughout the program.
