Cheshire Academy provides a personal alumni mentor for every new international student. All new international students will participate in this innovative one-on-one online program that will help students to effectively prepare for life here at Cheshire Academy. The program will take place over the spring, summer, and fall, and provides an additional layer of support throughout the Academy experience.
The mentor program is designed to promote skills that will enhance experiences in the classroom, in the dorm, and in cocurricular activities, and will complement and enhance the skills developed during day-to-day Academy life. The program is constructed to offer opportunities to build strong communication skills and cross-cultural awareness, and can easily be completed regardless of other time commitments and travel plans.
Our domestic and international alumni serve as trained mentors for incoming students. The program is customized to each student’s unique background, interests, schedule, learning style, and pace. This program is an exciting opportunity to introduce new students to the Cheshire Academy community and to studying in the United States, and we hope that all international students will make the effort to use this program as a resource in the coming months.
Once enrollment is confirmed, students and families will be able to log into MyCheshire to view more information on the International Students and Families portal page.
